VirtusAero is offering a paid summer internship position in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics of hypersonic flows. Intern will help to test and improve an existing computational tool for input/output analysis of hypersonic boundary layers under the direction of engineers at VirtusAero and in collaboration with other organizations. Duties will include: running CFD and related post-processing and analysis codes, compiling and testing software on Linux systems, improving documentation, and helping to develop and test new methods for hypersonic flow analysis using state of the art CFD tools. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in computer programming and have completed basic coursework in fluid mechanics and/or hypersonics; previous experience with CFD a plus. Candidates should possess strong communication and problem solving skills and a desire to learn and contribute. Internship will last approximately twelve weeks, with work to be performed at the VirtusAero offices near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Applicants must be US Citizens or have permanent resident status.
